Symptoms

After deployment of solution, access to certain workflows that are part of the application are inaccessible they cannot be opened in designer. The following exception is thrown when attempting to edit workflow in question:

Server Error

SmartObject (name/location of smartobject)] could not be found.

Diagnoses

Note to developer/support engineer:
The initial attempt to deploy the package was done on a subsite of the root SharePoint site. It is advisable to provision a new site collection for development/use of Appit solutions, as K2 does not support installation of Appit on the root SharePoint site level (or any subsite on the root level).

Initial deployment of the package did not correctly deploy objects to correct locations, and certain objects were showing up in incorrect folders when viewing folder structure through the Designer. Possible cause may be due to deployment at root site level.

Resolution

Used "Delete All" action (from artifacts page) to remove Appit integration and delete associated objects from the list on the root level. A member from the Operations team also performed further cleanup by removing SmartObjects from DB on back end to fully remove the application. This cleanup was also performed to the locations where the objects were incorrectly placed.

Provisioned new site collection on production Appit instance and recreated list. Redeployed solution to list. Solution is now fully functional, and all workflows are able to be opened for editing.
