Symptoms

Running SalesForce service broker on a Server 2012 and it fails. The same steps work successfully on Windows 2008 R2.

The issue is related to .Net v2.0 SDK dependency. This SDK cannot be installed on Server 2012 server and the BrokerManagement.exe tool only accepts v2.0.

There is no workaround for this issue. The error is trying to check a path that doesn't exist. The error is “The system cannot find the file specified”
 

Diagnoses

The issue was caused by incorrect value set for the registry key called sdkinstallrootv2.0 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/.NETFramework


 

Resolution

Correcting the value for this key, resolved the issue.
