removing a workflow from my list

I had several workflows which I deleted from the artifacts page of an appified list. They were "false starts." One continues to run with each new item I add to the list. It does not appear on my artifacts page and in the Workflow Server area, I can see it--and the instances of it that are running however, I cannot delete it. I could use some help stopping this workflow!
 

Diagnoses



This issue occurred because the workflow had active process instances and the workflow could not be deleted.
 

Resolution



Using the K2 management tool we were able to see the versions of the workflow that were running in parallel to the desired workflow, it was deleted along with all of the logs and reporting smart objects. To test we added a new item to the list and only the desired emails were received.
