Message queuing holding up mails.
 

Diagnoses


You have recently seen that the 'Email to Action Task' functionality is not working in K2.

You have identified that the email address being used does not have a mailbox/service account.
You have been advised that you will need to create an exchange account for each K2 server – i.e. have a mailbox created for the K2 service account for each environment.


The mailbox has been created and you can see it going to the mailbox but nothing is going through K2. You have added the email address to the config file but it is still not working.
 

Resolution

It could be the case their emails are being queued up within the Eventbus. Please make sure within the two dlls that are found in the .... K2 Blackpearl>>>Host Server >>> Bin folder that msmq bindings are pointing to the correct queue
- Eventbus.Server.config
- Eventbus.ClientRecorder.config

For example if you are using private queues check the following....Server Name/Private$/Event……
Doing an MSMQ restart as well as a K2 service restart should free up the queues completely.
