Symptoms

I receive an error when installing the 4.7 App Framework SmartStarter. Please see the error below.

The following errors occurred while compiling the process (with framework version 3.5): Deployment was unsuccessful due to an unknown error. System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: The following errors occurred while compiling the process (with framework version 3.5):
Deployment was unsuccessful due to an unknown error. ---> System.Exception: The following errors occurred while compiling the process (with framework version 3.5):
Deployment was unsuccessful due to an unknown error.

 

Diagnoses

We were able to find out that the issue was related to the Production system not having K2 Studio installed.

 

Resolution

Once we installed K2 Studio, we were able to correctly deploy the workflow from the package.
