In an environments with an Active Directory with more than 100 000 users, the people picker control is extremely slow to resolve users.
 

 

Diagnoses

 


When entering a value into a People Picker that uses an ADService2 – AD Users SmartObject, the Picker will take more than 5 minutes to resolve a user. This is a known issue with the ADService2 Service Broker and a large Active Directory with more than 100 000 Users.
 

 

Resolution

Please contact K2 support to obtain coldfix for this issue (internal ID 559365). The fix adds additional parameters to the ADService 2 Service Instances allowing you to disable use of "contains" filter and default to more performant "begins with" filter.

 


The new "UseEndsWith – Required" parameter can be set as follows:

 

 

 

False - best performance, Left to right search only
True - slower performance, wildcard search
