How do i configure parallel paths in the different workflow designers?

It's sometimes hard to go from one workflow designer to another. And one difficult mechanic (that is uber useful) is the parallel workflow path. 

Below, i have consolidated the documentation for all 3 designers:

1. K2 Studio / K2 for Visual Studio

The most common tutorials for parallel paths will use K2 Studio (notably the Temporary Access Tutorial:

2. K2 Designer (works for SP or non-SP)

Use Outcomes to make parallel paths, and then use Merge under "Using Outcomes To Implement Parallel Workflow Paths"

3. HTML Designer

A little bit different, but the concept is almost the same with the parallel outcome paths, and merging the paths.
