Package and Deployment Tool - Dependency Errors During Package

Diagnoses

When packaging the view in the attached package, we received errors that 4 properties referenced by the view are not contained in the dependent smartobject. The view reports no issues in designer or runtime and functions as expected. We were previously able to package and deploy this view prior to upgrading to 4.6.9.

This view was created as a clone from another view, which referenced a smartobject that does have these properties. This view was then modified to point to a new smartobject that did not contain the referenced properties. It seems there is now some issue where the PandD Tool is identifying properties no longer used as dependencies, where the prior version of PandD ignored these properties.

- This view was packaged and deployed without issues in 4.6.8

Resolution

Package validation was introduced in 4.6.9 that may be resulting in some of the errors that you are seeing. Please see the KB article below:

http://help.k2.com/kb001684

The coldfix indicated in this KB was provided to the customer to find the issues in the package. Customer was able to track down the issue and address it in the source environment to create a more compatible package for the destination environment.
