Dear Expert,

 

I am totally new in K2,I just strated to learn K2.

 

I am getting the following error message when I am trying to open the K2 Designer from IE.

 

An error occurred trying to authenticate the user.

More Details:

Exception Details:

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or
established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 192.168.4.235:5555
 

 

Please help me to resovle this issue.

Your support is highly appreciated.

  1. Which version of IE are you using to open k2 designer?
  2. and which version of K2 SmartForms have you installed?
  3. Please try opening K2 designer, using Chrome or Firefox to see if the same error occurs

Thanks for your prompt response.

 

I tried with Firexfox also but get the same error messag.

 

K2 smartforms version:  1.0.6 (4.12165.1625.0)

Interner Explorer:            8

IE 8 is not supported in K2 smartforms 1.0.6 (4.12165.1625.0) or greater, for Design time browser.

I would suggest you upgrade your browser to IE 9 or higher.

As i was doing my research on this issue, i found that the likely cause of the issue may be Port 5555 and/or 5252 not open between SharePoint and K2

This is a known issue where users from foreign domain can’t authenticate as it actually tries to auth the user with using the incorrect domain (Using the local domain).


I suggest that you logg a ticket for this as there is a Coldfix for this issue but it can only be provided over a ticket.
