Symptoms
After deleting a client event from workflow, P&D can no longer package the workflow because it is looking for the missing event.
Diagnoses
The client event still had “orphaned references” in the smartform. Knowing what to remove/fix in 4.6.9 is difficult, because P&D showed IDs of the missing artifact instead of the artifact name.
Resolution
Installed the 4.6.9 P&D roll-up patch. After doing this, P&D gave more information about the issue and this enabled us to rectify the issue.
