Diagnoses
A K2Studio line rule was causing a workflow to throw 'The SmartObject is empty' error on workspace.
Resolution
Since the data field used in the workflow line rule mappings was not passed in the Smartform 'start the workflow' action's configuration, it was throwing 'the Smartobject is empty' error.
Mapping the ID datafield with the ID value of the SmartObject in the above mentioned rule solved the issue.
