If i stop the K2 blackpearl Server service, then run the console mode, then submit workflow no issue.

Operating System :  Windows Server 2008 Standard (SP1)

Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP1) - 10.0.2531.0 (Intel X86)   Mar 29 2009 10:27:29   Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation  Developer Edition on Windows NT 6.0 <X86> (Build 6001: Service Pack 1)

Any help to solve the above.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Murugan,

A "The Handle is invalid" error generally means the account you are running under does not have Administrator permissions on the server.

In your description you mentioned that it works when running in Console mode. Can it be that you are logged in with a different account than the one set as the K2 blackpearl Server Service account? If so, then this will explain the behaviour.

To resolve this, ensure that the account specified as the K2 blackpearl Service account is part of the local Administrators group on the server.

Please try this and let us know whether it resolved the problem.

Regards,

Based on talking to the guys, I believe the issue was due to usage of a development license which only allows running in console mode (not service mode).

Hi Johnny,

Thank you for your support.

I have another question.

In production server currently K2 Server is running in console mode. We want to switch to service mode, i mean close the consloe window and start the K2 service.

To switch from console mode to service mode, is there any server reboot is required?.

Thanks in advance.

Nope.  No server reboot is required.  Basically you can close the K2 server console and then start the K2 server service from the services console.

Just make sure that you are using a production license and that the service is configured to start using the proper service account.
