Symptoms
We have moved the K2 to new server but kept the SharePoint and SQL environment and database as same. Now one of our workflow is not getting started and when we try to re-publish the workflow from K2 studio it is throwing the attached error. The RandampD on the issue led us to a similar Issue as shown in the below discussion.

Diagnoses
the fix was supplied and this resolved the issue
Resolution
After applying the fix at the customer's environment he added the following comment
"
We have followed the steps you provided but it didn't work straight away, instead we had to remove the destination user from the activity and re-add them, then only we go it working.
"
