K2 Workflow Error: The parameter 'addresses' cannot be an empty string
 

Diagnoses

The issue occurs within a workflow that was built using visual studio. This is using email notifications and also contains AD groups within the address fields.

When deploying the workflow and starting an instance you will see that the workflow fails and get the following error within workspace:

"The parameter 'addresses' cannot be an empty string. Parameter name: addresses

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue please check to see everyone within the AD group has an email. Any users without an email should be assigned an email or removed from the group. Furthermore it could be a case that a new AD may have to be created. If this is done please do remap it with the process to allow the process to recognize that a new group has been allocated here.

This issue has been resolved as the client created a new AD group and associated it with all the processes and this seemed to work. The client has been able send emails to the group in question as well.
