Issue:
Over a year ago, K2 smartforms server was installed on our UAT environment as a trial.
Therefore, there are many smartforms related things in the database. We removed smartforms, but the database artefacts remain.
Now I am attempting to install smartforms runtime. Runtime. Runtime.
When I click next on the database screen of the K2 Smartforms Setup Manager (for runtime) I get the following error "K2 smartforms database version is less than the currently installed version. Upgrade the K2 smartforms server component to continue. Found: 4.12.165.101.0, Expected: 4.12165.107.0"
 

Diagnoses

Diagnosis:
Error seems to be occurring due to the old K2.Form schema not being removed from the database before migrating.
 

Resolution

Resolution:
Recommended taking a database backup and dropping the K2.Form schema. After the drop is completed, reinstalling SmartForms Runtime must include the server component, which will also recreate the K2.Form schema.
