Symptoms

K2 SmartActions - Error logged in HostServer log: K2:PrimaryDomainUser from IP Address] is not allowed to open the worklist item

Diagnoses

Users from different domain have the same email address. When the destination users was set to use the SecondaryDomainUser, and when the user reply to the SmartActions notification, the following error will be logged in the K2 hostserver log file:-
K2:PrimaryDomainUser from mIP Address] is not allowed to open the worklist item

However, the event completes and did not send any error mails to the user.

Resolution

The behaviour is currently by design. How the SmartActions mechanism works currently is to check the email address against the Identity.Identity table and processes it. As user have 2 different domain account with the same email address, it will generate the error in the K2Hostserver log file. The error message is safe to be ignored.

An enhancement request to the SmartActions mechanism to check both the FQN of the destination user and the email address has been logged.
