K2 service doesn't start after license Key update
 

Diagnoses


K2 service doesn't start after the k2 blackpearl license Key was updated.
Please we need your help as soon as possible.

When trying to start the host server via console you get the following error:

Error starting Host server: exception of type ?system.configuration.configurationerrorsexception was thrown.
Error starting Host Serve: sourcecode.hostserverlib : Exception of type system.configuration.configurationErrorsException was thrown.


What could be the cause of this?

 

Resolution

You have to remove K2 completely and reinstall it completely. Please have a look at the following steps to undertake:



- Remove the control pack
- Remove smartforms
- Remove K2 Blackpearl

Then restore the DB or leave the DB as is. You will see within the doc that it will request you to remove this.

After this you will have to reinstall on the elements again (Blackpearl firstly then smartforms after.
