Symptoms

Client getting the following error:

6:1: Certificates.AddAccessToCertificate: 09:03:14:>> Logged Error: Could not set key access: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at SourceCode.Install.Common.Classes.Certificates.AddAccessToCertificate(String thumbPrint, String user, FileSystemRights rights)
6:1: Certificates.AddAccessToCertificate: 09:03:14:>> Add private key access to cert for user:

"The given key was not present in the dictionary. This could be due to an incomplete configuration or could not connect to database to retrieve the configuration data."
 

Diagnoses

Provided Kb article, http://help.k2.com/KB001571, which contains workarounds for the error encountered



 

Resolution

Client was able to use the KB article to get the license working. They then got a db error: "2005 Error Connecting to Database, Will Retry in 10 Seconds, Attempt 30" Client was able to get the db connection details back to local machine when he updated the license. He did the configuration again and redirected to correct server and the farm is working fine now.
