K2 for SharePoint Appdeployment.exe Failure
 

 

Diagnoses

 


K2 for SharePoint installed on K2 server and configuration analysis identifies no issues. K2 for SharePoint's appdeployment.exe is executed on the SharePoint App server which hosts Central administration and fails with the following error:

"The K2 server has not yet been updated with K2 for SharePoint, run the K2 for SharePoint Installer first and then try again."
 

 

Resolution

1. Logged into the K2 Server using as the K2 Service Account
2. Executed the K2 for SharePoint setup.exe and selected the Configure option
3. Checked InstallerTrace file and found the following error

4. Removed Smartforms Control Pack
5. Removed Smartforms
6. Installed Smartforms
7. Checked the InstallerTrace file and found the following errors
• 7:0: SourceCodeLog.LogMsg: 14:52:57:>> Logged Error: Unable to load assembly a SourceCode.Forms.Web.Configuration.dll ]: Could not load file or assembly 'D:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlK2 smartforms SetupSourceCode.Forms.Web.Configuration.dll' or one of its dependencies. The given assembly name or codebase was invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131047)
• 7:0: SourceCodeLog.LogMsg: 14:52:57:>> Logged Error: Unable to load assembly d SourceCode.Forms.Runtime.Web.Configuration.dll ]: Could not load file or assembly 'D:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlK2 smartforms SetupSourceCode.Forms.Runtime.Web.Configuration.dll' or one of its dependencies. The given assembly name or codebase was invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131047)
8. Re-ran Smartforms installer and selected the Repair option.
9. Configuration Analysis identified no issues
10. Checked InstallerTrace file and confirmed no Logged Error messages
11. Installed Smartforms Control Pack
12. Checked InstallerTrace file and confirmed no Logged Error messages
13. Installed K2 for SharePoint
14. Executed the K2 for SharePoint setup.exe and selected the Repair option
15. Checked InstallerTrace file and confirmed no Logged Error messages
16. Started K2 blackpearl Server service
17. Logged into the SharePoint App server which hosts Central Administration as the K2 Service Account
18. Executed the appdeployment.exe
19. App Deployment wizard successfully moved to the App Deployment Health Check (rather than erroring out as before)
