For our current project, we'd like to use K2.net with WSS (without the requirement to use K2.net with the full SharePoint Portal Server).

What are the implications?

Is there a strong technical dependency/requirement for SharePoint Portal Server (e.g. the SharePoint Single Sign-on Service)? ...or can K2 be configured to use just WSS?

K2.net integrates with WSS and SharePoint Portal Server. The site browser (the browse button next to the site text box in the Sps template) is the only component that gives some trouble, but the site can be manually entered to overcome this problem.
