Symptoms

When Data Label is placed to the topmost placeholder (marked as “Drag a control here”) in List View in K2 designer you cannot drag this Data Label to the placeholder on the bottom afterwards (marked as “Configure an aggregation or drag a control here”). Additionally if Data Label is placed on the topmost placeholder with “Visible” property disabled this placeholder will be displayed at runtime even if it does not have any visible elements.
 

Diagnoses

This is known issue with K2 Designer in 4.6.9 which is slated to be addressed in 4.7 (4.6.10 bound to be released soon will not include this fix).
 

Resolution

This issue is not a subject for coldfix as it requires complex and extensive changes. The only feasible workaround for this issue at the moment is to drop (delete) Data Label on the top and re-create it on the bottom of the List View.
