Symptoms

When using the hyperlink control in a form or view, and firing an update method against the underlying smartobject, additional " " characters are added to the beginning of the display name of the URL.

The link itself functions correctly, but the display of the URL is preceded by additional spaces.
 

Diagnoses

This is currently a known issue with the hyperlink control. The bug is purely cosmetic in nature, and does not impair functionality.

This also seems to be somewhat browser specific, as IE in many cases strips out the preceding whitespace characters in the display name.
