Symptoms
For certain scenarios when implementing K2 SmartForms solutions it may be necessary to perform navigation to another form with closure of the form from which you execute this rule. It could be also important to prevent users from returning to the preceding form by clicking browser’s back button.
For example you creating some workflow activities or requests from that initial form and availability of back button leaves a possibility for a user to inadvertently or intentionally generate unneeded/duplicate activities if he is able to return to previous form.
Diagnoses
You have to use “close the browser window” action in conjunction with “navigate to another Form” action for such scenario. But this may still leave an opportunity for use of the browser’s back button to return to previous form.
Resolution
To prevent use of browsers’ back button it is necessary to adjust “navigate to another form” action “Open In” property by changing it to “New window (or Tab)”.
