Symptoms

I currently have a SmartForm that depending on the Workflow task its in will either hide or make visible items on the underlying SmartForm's View.

I am noticing that even through the fields (Labels/Text Boxes/ Data Labels/ Rich Text box) are not visible... The Smartform's View is still holding the space that they would contain, without collapsing the now empty table rows.

Is there a way to force the table rows to collapse if the fields are now empty
 

Diagnoses

This is expected behavior in Smartforms. The gap or blank space that you see is due to the table's cell not being hidden when the control sitting in the cell is hidden.
 

Resolution

This can be done by taking the control out of a Table cell, or hiding the Table control itself.
