Help with K2 after brand new install

Diagnoses

When you have just installed K2 Blackpearl 4.6.11 plus Smartforms and K2 for SharePoint on a brand new SharePoint 2013 (standalone development) server and everything seems to be working okay for a while logged in with the service account I installed it with and the K2 Blackpearl server is running manually.

When you have asked the another user to test the install with himself logged into the server he is unable to run the service.

What permission have to be set correctly in order for the service to work without using the service account.

Also what permission will be need for the user to access K2 Workspace.

Resolution

If you would like another user to be able to run the service as the service account that you will need to have permission on is the K2 database itself. You will need the following security mappings:

- DB Owner
- DB SecurityAdmin

This should be sufficient enough for the user to start up the service.
Furthermore in regards to the user being administrator on workspace, the service account will need to grant access for the user under management >>> Server rights.

With this the user will have all the necessary permissions to access all the features of workspace.
