Hi everyone,

I am trying to set up a workflow that sets a look up field value equal to another field in the same list. Users have been using this list and entering information into a field that SHOULD have been created as a look up but wasn't. I need to start using a look up field now and update it to match all the information that users have already entered. I have tried updating the item or setting a field value and I have received the "Coercion Failed: Unable to transform the input lookup data into the requested type."  error every time. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I read somewhere about turning it into a string variable but the instructions were unclear. TIA

Hi,

have you looked at my post  ? If you want to fill it, you have to catch the corresponding item ID in the source list for the lookup field and use it to update the field..
