I think this is an easy problem to fix. I am finishing up lab 5 but I have no idea how to get to SamS's worklist in order to complete the lab because there is no browser or remote icons on the desktop for SamS.

Have you tried doing a "Run as" on Internet Explorer (as in right click on the IE icon and select Run as...) then log in with SamS's credentials?
You can also use SuzanS's Worklist, she's configured to be almost everyone's manager and can thus open and complete their items.
