With process portals being deprecated in SharePoint 2013, what is the guidance on process scheduling?  We use this functionality in process portals and I am not aware of any other way to do this.  We have several processes that have to kick off on a schedule.

Write the code to start a new process instance in console or powershell and add them to Windows Scheduler?

Is there a need for biz admin (non-it admin) to schedule process start from the UI?

Jk.

I would say yes, there is a need for that.  At my organization IT will usually help users set up a process designed to be "kick started" from the process scheduler in the process portal, but business users need to maintain the flexibility to modify the actual process schedule at will.  The last thing I think we want from an IT perspective is to have dozens of task scheduler jobs to manage for our users.

Losing that functionality is a big step backwards.
