Hello,

Despite all my attempts, I am unable to filter a list with another field’s value.

I have followed step by step explanations and videos online, but nothing works.

Here is a very simple example :

First list = Continent

Second list = Pays

I would like to select the continent, and then only view the right countries.

In my form, 1st lookup field :

Second field for the countries :

When I select “Africa” in the first dropdown, nothing in the second one :

Thank you very much for your help.

Which version of forms are you using?

I have just set mine up the same as your and it works - I am using version 2.10.1.0

When I select “Africa” in the first dropdown, nothing in the second one :

so you say there is not any country listed in second dropdown if you open it?

does the message shown mean 'Select a value...'?

if so then I would suggest to check for errors in developer console.

Our Nintex Forms is Version: 2.9.2.0

Yes the second list remains empty as soon as I try to filter it in any way.

Yes, the french message means 'Select a value ...'. I have also tested it on an English Nintex site, same problem.

I don't know how to open the developper's console.

press F12 in browser and then open the form.

see in Console tab whether any errors are reported during/after form loading or when you make selection in lookups.

OK I thought you were talking about a Nintex console.

Here are the errors in the developper's console, when the new form opens. The error means "end tag does not match"

ok, that all sounds to be good.

could you yet post configuration of continent field of Pays list?

It's a lookup field :

imho, your setup is absolutely correct.

unfortunatelly you are on release 2.9.* which introduced brand redesigned lookup control functionality. meaning it introduced plenty of bugs as well.  see release notes how many of them were addressed in later versions - Nintex Forms 2013 - Release Notes

so, if possible I'd recommend to upgrade, if not then you might try to log an incident with nintex support. they might be able to provide a workaround.

Hi,

We just upgraded to 2.10.2.0 and it seems to work fine now.

I can filter a list depending on another one. Hurrah !

Thanks everyone for your help.

great!.

so can you mark the question answered?
