Is the client activity the same? Is it pointing 1 or 2 activities? If it is pointing to 1 activity, you can just set the outcome rule. (for eg. "At least 1 Action Result = Approved")

Otherwise you can create an activity with a client event that has the originator as a destination user. Under the escalation rule, use go to activity feature to go to your next activity.

Point the 2 activities to the newly creately activity.
