Symptoms
Exception occurs when Picker Control is resolving: When a value is typed in the picker control and tab or enter is pressed this exception occurs. It does resolve successfully when the magnifying glass is clicked and a value is searched and selected with the pop up search view. A data source for the picker control has been set up and the service instance that the SMO is using is a Salesforce instance.
