Symptoms
Error when expanding Context Browser node in K2 Studio - Smartobject does not exist on the server
Diagnoses
In K2 Studio, when you expand a folder containing smartobjects in the context browser under SmartObject Server, to try to select a smartobject, they you the following error "Smartobject does not exist on the server" . This is probably due to having deleted a smartobject in the past.
This tends to happen within K2Studio and K2 Designer.
Resolution
To resolve this error, please do the following:
- Note down the error GUID
- Stop the K2 server
- Back up the K2 DB
- Upon the DB look at the K2.Category.data table.
- Run a select statement to see that the GUID is within here.
- After this remove the row from the table where the GUID is placed in the data column.
- Start the service back up and you should be able to see the smart objects within the category again.
You may have regenerate some SMO's that may need to be regenerated in this case too.
