We recently upgraded our DEV and QA environments from 1.0.6 to 4.6.11. Today, we made a small change to a smart form and attempted to package and deploy this smart form to our QA environment for testing. After deployment, we realized that the SmartForms Runtime URL environment variable that we recently referenced in our SmartForm change was not recognized in our QA environment. When we edited the package in QA, we got the following message: 'NBI Work List' Form is referencing the 'FieldId' property on the 'SmartForms Runtime 1' SmartForms Runtime URL that could not be found.

When attempting deploying a large package > 500 items and > 28MB, the 'Deploy Package' screen will display the following dialog box:

End Snap-in
This snap-in is not responding.
To return to MMC and check the status of the snap-in, click Cancel.
If you choose to end the snap-in immediately, you will lose any unsaved data. To end the snap-in now, click End Now.

Clicking Cancel does allow the 'Deploy Package' screen to proceed and the deployment to be successful.

Resolution

Manually including this 'Smartforms Runtime URL 1' field in the package during creation resolves the could not be found issue during deployment to target environment.

A bug was logged regarding this issue to be investigated and addressed in a further update. As a workaround for the time-being, please select the 'Cancel' option should this prompt occur.
