i am running k2 4.5 on my machine (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.lh_sp2rtm.090410-1830))

the dtabase is SQL 2008 and it is running on the same machine.

What i did is that i reconfigured k2 to make the database be on another machine (Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100226-1909))
