Symptoms

Error trying to deploy a workflow from use K2 from within SharePoint:

“System.Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:UsersUSERAppDataLocalTemp mpF530tmp' is denied.”

This location is a TEMP windows user and it appears that whatever should be using another user profile to run the application.

Resolution

You will need to grant "Authenticated Users" Modify rights on C:Users and all folders below on all SharePoint Web Front Ends.

After doing this, the error "Unable to deploy due to insufficient server rights" appears. Verified that the user doing the deployment had at least Export rights on the server. Looked at the logs and found that the error was due to the application pool account not having sufficient rights. Granted the application pool account "Export" rights on the server, and the deployment completed successfully.
