Symptoms

when i try to reconfigure k2 for sharepoint, im getting error and without that when i access the k2 application from sharepoint also im getting server error.

"8060 ProcessPacket Error, A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"

 

Diagnoses

During the investigation it was found that the customer moved K2 DB from SQL 2008 to SQL 2014 and renamed the port from 1433 to adifferent value. We ran the K2 setup manager in configure mode and applied in the Database server screen the following: SQLServerInstance,Port .
This was applied also to Smartforms and control pack in the K2 server and the K2 for sharepoint on the Sharepoint machine
