Error installing SharePoint Upgrade 4.6.9
 

Diagnoses


I have installed the SharePoint upgrade for 4.6.9 on the SharePoint onprem development server. Every indication is that the installation was successful. However when I go to register the app the result is an error.

You K2 Server version is not compatible with the K2 for Sharepoint App version.

Resolution

During our online meeting, we noticed that the K2 for Sharepoint app had been upgraded to version 4.6.9 in app Catalog but the K2 for Sharepoint components had not been upgraded to version 4.6.9 on the K2 Server. As such, we ran the K2 for Sharepoint 4.6.9 setup on the K2 server to upgrade the components to 4.6.9 and re-ran the appdeployment.exe on the Sharepoint server afterward, we were able to re-run the K2 for Sharepoint Registration wizard successfully.

In a Sharepoint on-prem scenario, usually the following K2 components will need to be upgrade on the K2 server in the following order:

1. K2 blackpearl 4.6.9
2. K2 smartforms 4.6.9
3. K2 smartforms Control Pack 4.6.9
4. K2 for SharePoint 4.6.9

Then the "appdeployment.exe" and its accompanying files from the "K2 for SharePoint 4.6.9/Installation" installation file will need to be ran on a Sharepoint server to upgrade the app version in the app catalog. Afterward, the K2 for Sharepoint app per site needs to be updated to the new version that is now in the app catalog and then the K2 for Sharepoint app Registration wizard re-ran.
