Symptoms

When changing the K2Server using the object browser, the following error message is displayed: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException: An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'C:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlK2Studiootempfolder].tmp' is denied.
 

Diagnoses

The user attempting to change the K2Server did not have rights on the K2Studio folder on the file system. Changing the K2 Server will require configuration file changes and if the user does not have rights to modify files in that folder, an error will be thrown.
 

Resolution

After granting the "Users" group "Modify" permissions on the 'C:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlK2Studio' folder, the user was able to change the K2Server using the "Object Browser".
