Symptoms


We have policy that would require password for K2 Administrator to change frequently. This K2 administrator account is different than the K2 Service Account. The K2 administrator user is only needed when setup is run. See link below. Is it required to run the K2 Blackpearl Setup Manager each time the K2 Admin account?s password is changed?

Resolution

In this case, the K2 admin account (i.e. k2 admin account) is just an administrator account and is not being used in any other places. For an example, i) k2admin account is NOT the K2 Blackpearl Server's service account. ii) Application pool credential for K2 Blackpearl/K2 Smartforms is not K2 admin account. Exchange/SMTP connection strings doesn't use the K2 admin account.

The only thing that might need to update is the K2?s SSO. After changing password for K2 admin account, please confirm there are no cached credentials for this account in 'K2 Workspace -andgt User Settings -andgt Single Sign-On'. Remove and cache with new password from this interface.
