Documentation for earlier versions of DB Consolidation tooling

Diagnoses

HI

Freehills wish to upgrade from Blackpearl 4.5 to the latest version.
The author is investigating there current environments in order to advise them on upgrade strategies.
The Client is running SQL Server 2008 SP1, (this must obviously at least be upgraded to SP3)

Upgrading straight to 4.6.11 is not possible, as running version 1.8 of the consolidation tool is not possible without at least SQL Server 2012.
The earliest version, 1.4, that documentation could be found for still has a dependance on SQL 2008 R2 bits.

Upgrading the SQL Servers is under investigation, but a move to SQL R2 or later is not likely.
Please provide the documentation for the earlier versions of the Consolidation tool.

Resolution

Please refer to the Consolidation Tool Documentation

The tool is compatible with the SQL Server versions supported by the K2 blackpearl version supported. For more information, please view the Compatibility Matrix: http://help.k2.com/blackpearl/support-matrix_SQLServer

Also note that the Consolidation Tool is backwards compatible as per the graph on the KB . So if you are upgrading the system to 4.6.11 I would suggest that you use the latest Tool (1.8)

http://help.k2.com/kb001628

Note that Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Management Objects are not dependent on SQL Server 2012 to be installed . These are re-dists and can be installed independently of any specific SQL Server version being present

My suggestion stands ... Upgrade SQL to a 4.6.11 compatible Version then upgrade to 4.6.11 then Consolidate using the latest Consolidation Tool .

Also , could you please update the ticket details to reflect the correct Operating System and SQL Server versions
