Hi,

I am installing a distributed K2 Blackpearl and SmartForms farm (3 servers), 1 db, 1, blackpearl, 1 smartforms.

I have successfully installed the Blackpearl server.

I have installed the SmartForms server and pointed it to the same database as the Blackpearl server. I have set up host entries on the SmartForms server to point to the blackpearl server. I do not have any ports configured, whatever was default. I do not have any dns entries set up (This is why I use host entries).

I am seeing the error:

1058 SourceCode.Forms.Runtime.ManagementServer not hosted!

when I try to access

http://sfserver/designer or http://sfserver/runtime

Do you know why this is?

How do I resolve this?

Thanks,

Sam

Sam

Have you recently applied any official fixes to your environment to fix any other issues? If so, than it is possible that the fix is causing this issue. Beyond that, I would ensure that that .dll actually exists in the install directory. If it does, try removing the component and re-adding it.

Try using FQDN, i.e. Not the hostname but with domain.

does that work?

I have not applied any fixes to the environment it is a brand new install.

I did uninstall smartforms and reinstall it and now I am getting the error "No such host is known".

When i try accessing using the FQDN to the root level i.e. http://sfserver.domain.com/ I get a 401.2 Unauthorized error.

When I try access http://sfserver.domain.com/designer I get "No such host is known".

Thanks,

Sam

Is the 'K2 blackpearl server service' or 'K2 blackpearl console mode' running?

If this is a new installation, did you also apply the permanent license key?  Usually the temporary key that you would receive (while your permanent is being processed) will only last about 4 days.

Try restarting the 'K2 blackpearl server service' or 'K2 blackpearl console mode' and checking the Windows > Application logs; are there any errors logged?

I don't have the K2 blackpearl server service installed on the SmartForms server.

Only K2 Blackpearl Setup Manager 4.6.7 and K2 Core 4.6.7 are installed (mandatory components only).

I and using a Development License key on both blackpearl and SmartForms servers and are still valid ( I realize they only last 4 days).

I will try restarting the K2 blackpearl server now.

Thanks,

Sam

I am getting an error "Could not connect to SmartFormsServer" in the event viewer logs of the blackpearl server.

Why is this trrying to connect to the SmartForms Server?

Maybe it's got to do with your Kerberos implementation and/or DNS configuration.

You should use DNS (not hosts file), check your Keberos implementation (I am pretty sure you need that in the 3-servers architecture) and make sure you only use FQDNs in every K2 config file.

Did you also install the Smartforms Core components on the K2 blackpearl server?  I believe you can install the Smartforms Web Applications on a different server; but the K2 blackpearl server will still need the Smartforms Core Components.

Are you able to check K2 Workspace > Management > Server:Port > License Management > Licensing?  How does the Expiry date look for both license?
