Is there a way to have a SmartForm display the contents of a file that was uploaded to a database table?

This article explains how to upload the contents of a file to a SQL Server database table.  http://johanmeyer.ukuvuma.co.za/2013/12/08/k2-blackpearl-file-upload-custom-table/

The next step is to then be able to display the contents of the file that was uploaded in a SmartForm.  The best way would be for the SmartForm to open the application that the file is saved in.  For example, if the file that was uploaded is a WORD document, then have the SmartForm open the file in WORD.  An Excel document would be opened in Excel.

Does anyone know if this is possible?  Or have suggestions for saving documents.  Thanks for your help.

Dear,

I've tried to do this, I just ended up with showing images but not files, the control "Content" doesn't show files content and there is no other control to do this.

I guess the only way is to create a custom control.

Regards,
