Date picker handling - Time component

Diagnoses

This may or may not be a bug versus a need for technique help for us. We have a date picker control in place that is linked to a SharePoint List date/time column. What we see happening is that the date is shifting back a day due to time difference between Central and Hawaii time zones. SharePoint regional setting is set to Hawaii time.

Central user is picking today 4/2 but it gets saved as 4/1. What we found is that the default time is 12 am. When it is subsequently retrieved it says 7pm previous day. We do not need the time component and do not display it.

It seems that the date picker should be setting the local time as well but is always going to 12 am. Is there some other way we should be handling this?

Resolution

Issue: Central user is picking today 4/2 but it gets saved as 4/1. What we found is that the default time is 12 am. When it is subsequently retrieved it says 7pm previous day.

Resolution: Unfortunately it appears that Appit 1.0 does not sync the on-prem local time with its cloud services. This is scheduled to be fixed in the next version (1.1) that will be out very shortly. Currently, the only way to sync the environments would be to change the time zone of your on-prem SharePoint server.
