Symptoms

Creating deploy package from command line

Diagnoses

Is it possible to create a package through the Microsoft command line ? (K2 version 4.5)

Resolution

It not possible to do this at the moment at all.

You can use our own PandD tool but you will have to upgrade to one of the latter versions of K2 Blackpearl to use this.

At the moment you can use the MS build or use powershell to this as well.

MS-Build gets used in K2 studio as well as Visual studio to create and deploy the package. MS build does use command line as well.

You can have a look at both sets of documentation below:

http://help.k2.com/kb000188

http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2blackpearl/packageanddeployment/1.0/default.htm_package_and_deployment_-_automated_deployment_of_packages_using_microsoft_powershell.html

To K2:

I would like a simple answer to the following questions.  We do not need deep technical details.

Why is this not possible?  Is it due to the building of the dependency tree when K2 artifacts are selected (in the P&D MMC app)?

Some explaination of this would be helpful when positioning this.
