I am hoping for a hand, I realise this is more a SQL realm question but hoping someone here has done this already.

I am using BlackPearl 4.6.11 with SQL 2008 R2

I would like to create a unique identifyer for my forms that takes the format of

xxxyyyynnn

Where xxx=application identifier (i.e. tr=Travel Request, sc=Contract, sam=Site Access Management)

yyyy=current year

nnn=incemental number that resets every calendar year

I have found several examples of how to do this through online searches, however none appears to have worked or are way above my head in complexity.

I imagine this is not an uncommon requirement.
