Create SQL Service Instance against a very large DB

Diagnoses

I am trying to create a SQL Service Instance against an ERP System (PS) that includes hundreds of tables. What are some ways that I can optimize the registration process. It took 3 hours to just register the SQL Service instance for a single DB using the Smart Object Tester. And every time I need to create a new service object from a service object it takes 15 minutes to expand the Sql Service Instance. This really hinders our development process.

Resolution

In our configuration guides, even when the organization starts to move into a "medium scale" topology, the guide recommends connecting to a SQL network load balancer (NLB). When you've brought the servers resources to recommended or optimal parameters, you have to start considering distributing the load to allow for other servers to also take the data loads.
