Could not load file or assembly 'SourceCode.WebDesigner.Management.dll' when deploying a workflow
 

Diagnoses

While we are able to successfully deploy a workflow with the K2 Package and Deploy utility, the final screen complains
of a missing file. The file is SourceCode.WebDesigner.Management.dll which does not exist on either the development
PC (source) or on the staging server (target). My impression is this file may be necessary for Smart Forms, which we
do not leverage.

Again, the deployment succeeded, but am concerned with an error message regarding a file (library) dependency that
we do not need, and it does not exist. Help?

 

Resolution

Issue:

While we are able to successfully deploy a workflow with the K2 Package and Deploy utility, the final screen complains of a missing file. The file is SourceCode.WebDesigner.Management.dll which does not exist on either the development PC (source) or on the staging server (target). My impression is this file may be necessary for Smart Forms, which we do not leverage.

Diagnosis:

Client machines should not need this file to function properly. In order to get rid of that error message the file must be copied to a client machine and the K2 server restarted.

The path to the file on your K2 server is: sDrive]:Program Files (x86)K2 BlackPearlHost ServerBinSourceCode.WebDesigner.Management.dll.

The path to the file on your client machine should be: eDrive]:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlK2 smartforms DesignerWorkflowBinSourceCode.WebDesigner.Management.dll.

Resolution:

Sent the SourceCode.WebDesigner.Management.dll file to the customer. The error message doesn't appear anymore.
