I cooked up this utility to save myself some time. It creates an sodx file with properties matching your process' datafields as closely as possible. It skips binary datafields and warns you that large text fields might need to be switched to ''memo'' in the SmartObject designer. It isn't the cleanest code in the world, but it works great and I'm providing the source so you can compile in your specific BP version's dlls. Oh! and I'm using the DataField.ValueTyp
