Diagnoses

We only support "Latin1_General_CI_AS" collation:-
http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2blackpearl/icg/current/webframe.html_microsoft_sql_server_2008__reporting_services.html

If you are using "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" which is the default SQL Server collation. It's alright as well and the most important thing here is it must be Case Insensitive (CI). The collation must be consistent in all SQL Instance, Database, Table and columns level.

This is very important as based on past experiences, changing the collation between Database and Instance level is not that straightforward and it's a painful process.

Resolution

Since this is a new installation, customer reinstalled the SQL Server Instance to make the collation consistent.
