Symptoms

While running a K2 client tools upgrade on a client machine, the setup manager does not display the proper wizard page(s) needed to just do a client tools install and update the current the set of tools already installed
 

Diagnoses

This seems to be related to left over registry values on the client machine that cause the setup manager to display items related to a full install instead.


 

Resolution

After uninstalling the current set of K2 client tools on the machine, you can double check the following registry setting is removed and then rerun setup.exe from the installation files for the version of K2 you would like to upgrade the client tools to:

- Open registry editor.
- Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftware" and delete the "SourceCode" node.
- Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareWow6432Node" and delete the "SourceCode" node as well.
- Re-run the Setup.exe from the installation files
